Cross Country

Jeanna_Copy_.png

Students in Kinder to Year 10 had the opportunity to run, jog or walk the school cross country course last week.  Thank you to our wonderful Port Sport Leaders who assisted the junior students on the day with encouragement and helping them stay on track. A big thankyou to Mr Sanders our HPE Coordinator and the HPE team for organising the event.  Please find attached a cross country report and photos from the day.

School Face Book

A reminder to families to regularly check our school Face Book which includes reminders for parents and students, important dates and photos of our special events and students learning in their classrooms.

If you have questions in regard to your child’s learning and progress this year you are encouraged to phone the school. Year 10 exams will be held at the end of Term 3.

5/6 Sport

Our year 5/6 students have been training for 5/6 sport. The students really enjoyed having the chance to compete against the other schools last Friday at South George Town Primary.  A reminder if you require 5/6 sports uniform this can be purchased from the general office. Well-done to the students from Port Dalrymple School who were selected to compete in Country Gold. A list of the students who will compete in Netball, Hockey, Soccer and Football has been included.

Screening Form

All parents and visitors who are coming into the school for meetings and parent help are required to sign in at the general office and complete the health screening form.

School Pool

The Port Dalrymple School pool will be closed for the remainder of Term 3 -  we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Reporting

Mid-Year Learning Conversations/Reporting

In 2020 the reporting requirements for schools have changed given the impact of COVID on teaching and learning programs.

Teachers in Kinder to Year 10 in week 10 of Term 2 and week one and two of Term 3 will be contacting parents/guardians to inform them of the child’s progress.

Subjects to Be Reported Against - Mid-Year Learning Conversations

Kindergarten Development Check (KDC) for Kinder students

Literacy and Mathematics for Prep – 6

Mathematics, English, HASS and Science for Years 7-10

Teachers will be phoning parents/guardians to inform them of their child’s progress being Working Towards Standard, At Standard or Above the Standard Expected.  Teachers will also provide parents with an indication of how their child has settled back into face to face lessons and their wellbeing.

This is an opportunity for parents to ask questions of teachers and understand what their child needs to do to continue to progress with their learning.
