Cross Country
During PE, across the whole school during Term 2 and into the start of Term 3, we will be participating in cross-country training and aligned education around physical activity.
Due to the period of home schooling and some current limitations around sports and the use of equipment in physical education, the Port Dalrymple HPE team have planned to conduct our cross-country unit when high school students return to school in week 7 of Term 2. Our plan is to hopefully run a cross-country carnival early in Term 3, provided current Covid-19 restrictions have been eased by then.
With this in mind, can you please ensure students bring to school PE gear that is suitable for cross-country e.g. running shoes, shorts/track pants, T-shirt/sports jumper. The course is in good condition, however can be susceptible to wet and muddy conditions, therefore a change of clothes is required. Conditions are variable at this time of year so warm clothing is also recommended.
All students are required to participate in the cross-country, whether they are running, jogging or walking. It really is all about having fun being active and doing their best. If a medical condition prevents a student from participating, a doctor’s certificate will be required.
