Senior Sector Report
All Senior Students have now returned back to face to face classes. All subjects including the VET Hospitality and Building and Construction courses have resumed with enthusiastic students and staff extending themselves after the forced break.
During the break students continued to learn via online resources and through regular contact with teachers which has included phone calls, email and video conferences for individuals and entire classes. Through the dedication of both staff and students, focus has stayed on all students attaining their TCE on completion of Year 12.
At Port Dalrymple School we currently have four school based apprentices. Each of these eager learners spend time in the work force focusing on ‘on the job’ training and the explicit skills needed in their chosen occupation. The remainder of their week is spent at school with a focus on literacy and numeracy and the attainment of their TCE.
We encourage students moving through Port Dalrymple who are interested in an apprenticeship pathway to consider a school based apprenticeship as part of their transition to the workforce.
